In the past 40 years, 95% of the world’s Rhinos have been lost. Most of the rhinos are already endangered species or extinct. Rhinos found in Africa and Asia are conflicting with the destruction of their habitat. This is due to the hunt for rhino horns for trade in East Asian markets, and used by some cultures for ornaments or traditional medicine.  

Knowledge that rhino horn is composed of keratin, the same protein found in human hair and fingernails. Rhino horn has no unique medicinal properties. Designer Steve Chan hopes to spread awareness through his design and bring more attention to stopping the trading for rhino horns.
